The place to find goods & services in Outback Queensland
About eureka outback
Eureka Outback was initiated to make it easy to find and show-off the inspiring individuals and businesses offering world quality, tailored and exciting goods and services, right here in our back yard that is Outback Queensland.
Whilst travelling for my photography work I am continually finding unexpected treasures, tailor-made service providers and innovative businesses hidden throughout Outback Queensland. The trouble is, I never knew they existed. No one knows they (you?!) are there and so we can't purchase your treasures or use your services. (insert frustrated uuuggghh!)
I know all too well, that for micro and small businesses, the cost, time and skill involved in creating and maintaining a website can be prohibitive. And marketing is TOUGH!!!
At the same time I was investigating how to establish a western Queensland weddings directory to give engaged couples easy access to all there is to offer for your western Queensland wedding. Then I had the eureka moment ... 'why not put it all in one place!' (how obvious! - sort of ...) and thus Eureka Outback was born.
We have tried to include everything you could want, whether you are looking for a tradie, locally made gifts, a wedding service provider or want to show-off your own business and make it easy to find.
Search using location or keywords then browse and enjoy! Oh and please do get onto me if you have any feedback or ideas as I am continually improving the website and the Eureka service. Thank you!
I (Louise Gronold) am a professional photographer based in Barcaldine. I travel across Queensland for work, but my heart is well and truly rooted across the Desert Uplands, Mitchell Grass Downs and the Channel Country.
My stay in western Queensland began in 1996 when, as a new graduate with an Agricultural Science degree, I came to work at the Queensland Department of Primary Industries for a short 3 month stint. This extended a bit.
Years later, I am a fully fledged jack of all trades and master of adaptability and networking. This is what I love to put to use in my current career as I help people feel at ease in front of my camera and help their business grow (or capture their growing family).
In 2017 I had the absolute good fortune of finding the motivated, wonderful to work with, head for details (and punctuation) Kate Hetherington. She is across all aspects of Eureka Outback and what it offers.
Kate has returned to Barcaldine for a 3 year stint with her fiance. She has a background in research psychology and has travelled overseas with her work. She is also a spring chicken compared to me and helps me keep an open perspective with things social media and new. We both have curly hair.
Now in 2019, Kate is off working for another lucky employer but I cherish her input into Eureka Outback (and her patience with me) and so I leave this information here as I couldnt have done it without her.
